We had to do the employee locker inspections today. Confiscated a bunch of box cutters, scrappers, and moldy stuff. At least I got to use the bolt cutters on some non-issued locks.
One dude had 2 lockers with a different type of lock on them. I cut those off and his standard issue locks were sitting there right inside.

Yeah, I guess I could see schools in places like Mississippi or Alabama treating teachers like inmates. I couldn’t imagine that happening in places with functioning public education. Keep in mind I’m from Arizona, so the bar I set for functioning public edication is pretty low.

Food processing facility where pathogens are taken very seriously. Can’t have dirty anything. We supply them clothes, shoes, working tools, locks, gloves, and lockers. Gotta keep those things clean to keep our customers safe. And people are not clean by nature. Trust me.

The fact there was moldy stuff does not give me high hopes things are being kept clean.

I’ve worked in food processing over 20 years, and this place is one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. I’m constantly amazed at how some of my previous employers were no where near as clean as this place, and also nowhere near as kind to the employees as other places. This is a great food company for so many reasons.

That’s a bit concerning, but not surprising. I’ve worked in print shops for twenty odd years and never once experienced a level of hygiene that led to mold growing anywhere in a shop, and we never planned on customers ingesting our product.
One of the many reasons I try to only buy fresh food from the farmer’s market.
